Diamond Dogs receive No. 11 preseason ranking

Mississippi State was voted No. 11 nationally by Collegiate Baseball in its preseason poll released Monday.

The Diamond Dogs received 469 points, four shy of a top 10 ranking.

MSU is coming off a 24-30 season last spring and was just 8-22 in league play. Both records placed the Bulldogs at the bottom of the SEC.

John Cohen‘s club is one of nine to represent the conference in the top 40 rankings. Florida is the preseason No. 1 with 495 points while Vanderbilt (3), Texas A&M (5), LSU (7), Arkansas (24), Kentucky (29) and Missouri (34) are also ranked.

Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia also received votes. Southern Miss was also in the receiving votes category.
