Mississippi State added another piece to its 2016 recruiting puzzle on Sunday as three-star athlete Jamal Couch committed while on an official visit to Starkville.

Couch had previously been committed to Florida State and chose the Bulldogs over other offers from Arkansas State, Louisville, Missouri, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Southern Miss and Tennessee.

The 6-foot-5, 217-pounder from Phenix City is rated the No. 16 athlete in the nation and the ninth-best prospect in Alabama. He is expected to play wide receiver at MSU.

Couch’s edition pushes the Bulldogs’ class to 15 commitments.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
