Expectations are certainly high for Mississippi State to rebound for a disastrous baseball season a year ago.

The Diamond Dogs are ranked in the top 20 in all six preseason polls with the release of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll which had MSU at No. 19.

John Cohen‘s club was also picked 11th by Collegiate Baseball, 15th by D1Baseball.com, 17th by Perfect Game and USA Today and 20th by Baseball America.

Joining State in the NCBWA preseason top 35 from the SEC are Florida (1), Vanderbilt (3), Texas A&M (4), LSU (7), Arkansas (22), South Carolina (24), Kentucky (32) and Ole Miss (33). Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Missouri and C-USA member Southern Miss also received votes.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
