Mississippi State’s Blair Schaefer has been named to the SEC Community Service team.

Schaefer, the sophomore guard and daughter of coach Vic Schaefer, is an active member of the M-Club and volunteered with the Special Olympics. She also assisted with the T.K. Martin Fun Run which helps raise funds and awareness for children with special needs.

Schaefer also participated in Step Up for Kids, Bully’s Kids Club and Travis Outlaw Day.

On the court, Schaefer has appeared in 27 of the Bulldogs’ 28 games averaging 3.2 points. She is second on the team with 23 made 3-pointers. All but five of her field goals have been behind the arc.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
