No. 15 Mississippi State is looking to go dancing for a second straight season.

The Bulldogs (26-7, 11-5 SEC) will learn their postseason fate at 6 p.m. tonight on the NCAA Women’s Basketball Selection Show on ESPN.

Although MSU finished tied for second in the SEC and were runner-up at the SEC Tournament, the Bulldogs’ RPI is at No. 24 which would likely put them as a No. 5 seed and out of the hosting conversation.

I think we are one of the Top 16 teams in the country,” said MSU coach Vic Schaefer. “We’re 9-3 in our last 12 with no bad losses outside the Top 50 (in the RPI) this season. We’re playing as well as anyone in our league at the right time of the year.”

The Bulldogs will host a selection show watch party at Humphrey Coliseum with doors opening to the public at 5 p.m.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
