Dakota Hudson

Another day and another honor for Mississippi State’s Dakota Hudson.

Hudson was selected as the Midseason Top Pitcher by D1Baseball.com on Friday. The recognition comes one day after the junior right-hander was named Midseason Pitcher of the Year by Perfect Game.

Hudson is 4-1 with a SEC-low 0.92 ERA, 56 strikeouts and 18 walks over 48 2/3 innings of work this spring.

The Dunlap, Tennessee native was also picked as part of the D1Baseball.com Midseason All-America Team as well, one of only three players from the SEC.

Other midseason awards went to Clemson outfielder Seth Beer (Top Player), TCU pitcher/ first baseman Luken Baker (Top Freshman) and Clemson’s Monte Lee (Coach of the Year). UC Santa Barbara was named the Biggest Suprise after the Gauchos 20-6 start.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
