Fan favorite LaKaris Salter is transferring from Mississippi State following her sophomore season.
Salter announced her decision via Facebook on Saturday stating “I would like to thank God for giving me the opportunity to play the game I love, and I would like to thank my parents and family for believing in me from the very beginning without a doubt. Thank you to the Coaching Staff, my teammates, and Community of MSU for making these two years in Starkville amazing. Unfortunately, I will not be attending MSU next year and I wish the very best for them and their success on and off the court. I love and will miss you all!”
The 6-foot-1 forward from Tallahassee, Florida concludes her MSU career after 39 games. Salter appeared in 20 games off the bench this past season averaging 6.4 minutes per game and scoring 3.7 points on 37.5 percent shooting.
Salter is the second player to transfer following the Bulldogs’ Sweet 16 season joining Kayla Nevitt.
