Today is the deadline for Malik Newman to decide whether to remain in the NBA Draft or return to Mississippi State for his sophomore season.
The 6-foot-3 guard did not hire an agent and has the option of coming back to college after attending the NBA Combine in Chicago earlier this month. Newman has also had individual workouts for the Bucks, Knicks and Nets.
CBS Sports rates the former McDonald’s All-American as the 59th best prospect in the draft. Newman stated during a press conference in March that if he was a second round projection “I’m pretty sure I’ll be back”.
Newman averaged 11.3 points for the Bulldogs in 29 games last season.
