Mississippi State’s Dakota Hudson was selected as a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award on Wednesday.
Hudson is one of seven players picked from the Southeastern Conference among the 25 semifinalists. Finalists will be named on June 13 and the award will be presented on June 30.
In 15 starts this spring, the 6-foot-5 junior right-hander from Dunlap, Tennessee is 9-4 with a 2.35 ERA, 107 strikeouts and 30 walks over 103.1 innings of work.
Will Clark is the only former Bulldog to ever win the Golden Spikes Award back in 1985. Former Arkansas outfielder Andrew Benintendi claimed the honor last year.
