The third and final member of Mississippi State’s signing class, Dustin Skelton, was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 36th round (1,092nd) on Saturday.

The Magnolia Heights catcher joins George County outfielder/ pitcher Walker Robbins and Heartland (Illinois) Community College pitcher Colin Holderman as the trio taken from John Cohen’s class.

Skelton was an honorable mention as a Rawlings All-American and a Perfect Game Southeast All-Region second team selection.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder will have until July 15 to reach an agreement with the Blue Jays or come to college.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
