The postseason honors continue to roll in for Dakota Hudson and Jake Mangum of Mississippi State.

Both players were added as second team All-Americans by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association on Wednesday.

It was the third All-American honor for Hudson. The junior pitcher was also picked as an All-American by Baseball America and Louisville Slugger. He was 9-5 with a 2.55 ERA, 115 strikeouts and 35 walks through 17 starts.

Hudson was the 34th overall pick by the St. Louis Cardinals last week.

It was the fourth All-American selection for Mangum, who was also named a Baseball America All-American and a Louisville Slugger and NCBWA Freshman All-American.

The outfielder from Pearl leads the SEC with a .408 batting average and had 84 hits, 12 doubles, three triples, one home run, 28 RBI and six stolen bases. Mangum only struck out 20 times in 225 plate appearances.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
