Former Mississippi State outfielder Hunter Renfroe will be part of the MLB All-Star Game festivities in San Diego next month.

Renfroe, currently playing for the Padres’ Triple-A affiliate the El Paso Chihuahuas, was selected to play for the U.S. Team in the Futures Game on July 10 at 6 p.m. at Petco Park and will be televised by MLB Network.

It will be the second time Renfroe has participated in the event having gone 1-for-2 with a single in the 2014 Futures Game in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Renfroe lettered at MSU from 2011-13 before being drafted 13th overall by the Padres. He is currently hitting .324 with 25 doubles, four triples, 18 home runs, 67 RBIs and three stolen bases.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
