The term Friday night lights certainly applies to Mississippi State’s road tilt with BYU on Oct. 14.

The Bulldogs and Cougars will kickoff at 9:15 p.m. CT on ESPN.

It is the latest kickoff in MSU history surpassing its 2015 opener at Southern Miss by 15 minutes.

It will be the third meeting between the two programs with the Bulldogs winning 44-28 in Provo in 2000 and BYU returning the favor the following year with a 41-38 win in Starkville.

The Cougars will make a return trip to Davis Wade Stadium on Oct. 14, 2017.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
