Mississippi State senior running back Brandon Holloway has landed a spot on the Wuerffel Trophy watch list as well as a nominee for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.
The Wuerffel Trophy is presented annually to an FBS player that best combines exemplary community service combined with athletic and academic achievements.
Holloway is one of 88 members of the watch list for the award. Semifinalists will be selected on Nov. 3 and finalists on Nov. 23. The winner will be announced on Dec. 6.
Oklahoma center Ty Darlington claimed the honor last year.
On the field last season, Holloway carried 92 times for 413 yards and also caught 33 passes for 396 yards and five touchdowns. The 5-foot-8, 165-pounder from Tampa, Florida also returned 24 kickoffs for 567 yards and another score.
