Mississippi State released its non-conference men’s basketball schedule last week but was still awaiting word on which opponents it would play in the Charleston Classic.

It was revealed on Thursday that the Bulldogs would take on Central Florida from the TD Arena on Nov. 17 at 4 p.m. on ESPN. MSU and the Golden Knights have never met on the hardwood.

It will be the third game over the tournament which also features Western Michigan, Villanova, Wake Forest, UTEP, Boise State and Charleston.

The Bulldogs will play either Boise State or Charleston the following day. If State wins it’s opening game it would play at 8:30 p.m. on ESPNU and a loss would result in a 6 p.m. tip on ESPN3.com.

The Bulldogs will play a third game on Nov. 20.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
