Callaway three-star athlete Emanuel Dabney has de-committed from Mississippi State.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder had been pledged to the Bulldogs since Dec. 3 and also owns offers from Jackson State, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, Middle Tennessee, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Alabama, Southern Miss and Texas-San Antonio.

Dabney announced his decision via Twitter stating “I am extremely thankful for the opportunity that Coach (Greg) Knox and Coach (Terrell) Buckley have given me, and what Mississippi State had to offer. As of now I have decided to reopen up the recruiting process and decommit from State.”

Dabney’s departure leaves MSU with 21 commitments for 2017, a class that is rated 16th in the country by 247Sports.com.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
