Brandon McBride will continue his quest for Olympic glory in the semifinals of the men’s 800m Saturday after taking his preliminary run in dominating fashion with a time of 1:45.99 on Friday morning.

A three-time national champion in the event, the Canada native is very familiar with the men’s 800m. He won two of his national titles during his illustrious Mississippi State career, and added a Canadian national title just last month.

Saturday’s semifinal round will begin at 8:08 p.m. CT.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
