Mississippi State’s quarterback numbers didn’t stay down long following Elijah Staley‘s transfer on Friday.
The Bulldogs brought in Wyatt Roberts as a walk-on and started practicing with the team on Sunday.
Fans of the Netflix documentary series “Last Chance U” will recognize Roberts as the former starting quarterback at East Mississippi Community College last season.
The 6-foot, 195-pounder from Louisville completed 65.4 percent of his passes for 2,197 yards, 23 touchdowns and only two interceptions as a sophomore for the Lions. Roberts also rushed for 243 yards and three more scores.
