In his own words: Josiah Phillips

Sophomore Josiah Phillips has an incredible story to tell going from a homeschooled student from Starkville who had never played organized football to walking on at hometown Mississippi State. Phillips began his career as a quarterback, switched to tight end and is now a linebacker. On Monday, Phillips was placed on full scholarship which relieved his brother, Jonathan, a former Bulldog football player who is now in the Army and was supporting his younger brother financially.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
