Double Coverage

double coverageMississippi State and Ole Miss opened their 2016 football seasons with disappointing losses. Both teams blew large halftime leads, with MSU falling to South Alabama, 21-20, and Ole Miss coming up short against Florida State, 45-34.

On this week’s episode, Logan Lowery looks back at the MSU game (2:08) and examines the issues in the secondary and at quarterback. He also looks ahead to this week’s SEC opener against South Carolina (17:07) and discusses which suspended players might hit the field.

As for Ole Miss, Parrish Alford notes Chad Kelly’s up-and-down performance, the defense’s passing game troubles, and injuries (10:25). He also points out some bright spots for the Rebels, and then he previews this week’s home opener against Wofford (20:27) and speculates who might fill the holes left by those injuries.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
