Mississippi State will meet Louisiana-Lafayette in a “home and dome” series scheduled for 2018 and 2019.

The Ragin’ Cajuns will visit Starkville on Nov. 3, 2018 then MSU will open its 2019 football season against ULL on Aug. 31 in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

“This series makes sense because MSU gets a home game, followed by a neutral-site contest in a destination city our fans can get to easily,” said MSU director of athletics Scott Stricklin. “The opportunity to open the 2019 season in the Superdome on Labor Day weekend is a huge plus.”

The Bulldogs lead the overall series 3-1 including 3-0 in Starkville. State claimed a 31-3 win during the last meeting in 1987.

The Ragin’ Cajuns only victory came in a 6-5 contest played in Columbus in 1908.

Louisiana-Lafayette is currently coached Mark Hudspeth, who served as Dan Mullen‘s wide receivers coach in 2009-10.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
