Video: Dillingham, William

Mississippi State guards Dominique Dillingham and Morgan William preview the start of preseason practice, which begins this afternoon.

Senior Guard Dominique Dillingham

On the difference between starting last year and this year…
“I think we’re just ready to get started. We’re hungrier than we were last year. We got a taste of the Sweet 16 and we want more.”

On the newcomers…
“Iggy is athletic and has a lot of energy, and she’ll bring that to the court. Ameshya is long. She can do a lot, and the four players on this team can really bring her along.”

On ending last year…
“It left a sour taste in our mouth, but we don’t want to dwell on it. We have to build on it and work and learn from our past mistakes.”

Junior Guard Morgan William
On coming back from an injury…
“It’s been a long process. I’ve had my ups and downs. I’m ready to be back, I’m faster and I can jump better. It was a little frustrating, but I’m ready to be back.”

On Jazzmun Holmes…
“She’s done everything I expect her to do. She practices against me everyday, so I know what she is capable of. She gained a lot of confidence over the summer out there just by herself without any subs.”

On her game now vs. freshman year…
“I’ve put on some weight so I’m bigger. I’ve been working on my shot, being in the gym with my teammates and working out everyday. So I feel like I’m better than I was as a freshman.”

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
