Ole Miss 28, UTEP 10

UTEP’s best back didn’t play, but it was still an improvement from Week 1 to Week 2 for the Ole Miss defensive line. The Rebels held the Miners to 48 rushing yards.

Another great game from Bo Wallace at quarterback. He’s hitting the high-percentage passes and protecting the ball. He had a hand in four touchdowns tonight, throwing for three and rushing for one. Finished 15-for-22 for 174 yards.

It was good to see Jeff Scott back in uniform. He finished with 113 yards on 13 carries. Lots of energy. He was suspended for the first quarter, Freeze said, because he had missed a class.

Lots of playing time for backup cornerback Cliff Coleman, leading one to wonder if there’s increased competition back there in the secondary.

More tomorrow morning in Day After Observations. Defensive video below.
