Ole Miss-UTEP at the half

The Rebels lead 21-0 and are on a pace for 528 yards.

Bo Wallace looks good against better competition. He’s 11-for-13, 152 yards, 2 TD, no INT. Wallace connected with Donte Moncrief for 55-yard touchdown on the Rebels’ first possession. He also connected with Jaylen Walton for a 51-yard touchdown. Walton was wide open on a play-action after several successful runs. Third touchdown was Wallace himself on a 4-yard run off the right side. Haven’t seen Barry Brunetti yet, though Mackey has taken the snap.

No turnovers for Ole Miss in the first half, but the Rebels did gain one when Cody Prewitt picked off a pass in the end zone, one of two times the Rebels turned back the Miners when they were threatening. On fourth-and-goal from the 1 early in the second quarter, Ralph Williams and Gilbert Pena stopped the UTEP QB.

Offense has rushed 19 times .for 112 yards, led by Randall Mackey with 33 yards, Jeff Scott with 22 yards.

Defense has looked much better against the run. DL really playing well, but they’re giving up yards in the passing game, 138 to this point. UTEP had just 48 passing yards last week against Oklahoma.

Prewitt leads the defense wtih seven tackles and a sack to go with his INT.
