Donte Moncrief has caught the eye of the Biletnikoff Award committee and is one of eight receivers added to the award’s watch list.
Moncrief leads the SEC and ranks 11th in the nation with 106.7 receiving yards a game. He has 18 catches for 320 yards and has a touchdown catch of more than 50 yards in each game this season.
People who watched Moncrief last season knew he was talented. He has really elevated his game, though, and is playing like an All-SEC guy, perhaps more.
He’s been so good, and Bo Wallace has relied on him so much, that the other receivers have been overshadowed a bit. Hugh Freeze told us yesterday that he doesn’t tell Wallace to pass to Moncrief. He tells his QB to go through his progressions and make the right decision.
More often than not Moncrief has been the right decision.
Foundation selection chairman Ritchie Pickron stated, “Eight players have distinguished themselves as receivers several games into the young college football season and merit inclusion on the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award.”
