Hoops update

With practice set to begin in October, Ole Miss basketball coach Andy Kennedy says his Rebels are in pretty good shape physically, the lone exception being junior center Demarco Cox, who had surgery on a foot recently.

Kennedy says Cox will be out six to eight weeks. That will hurt the Rebels’ depth in the early going.

Back in the summer senior forward Murphy Holloway sustained an ankle sprain that kept him out of some conditioning work, but Holloway has been working out full speed for over a week.
