Moving on

Ole Miss offensive coordinator Dan Werner was pleased with many aspects of the Rebels’ 33-14 loss at Alabama, but the negative yardage plays and turnovers were not among them. Werner says the Rebels aren’t a very good passing football team right now, and that’s especially true in third-and-long situations when defenses don’t have to respect the run. Assessing the offense

  • You can’t bring in the other QBs and let them get you in third and long situations and then put Bo back in and expect him to complete the pass every time. I did’nt think rotating the QBs helped that much Saturday. PA, do you think that was just a way to try to throw off the Bama D? Or did it have to do with Bo’s shoulder?

  • What is Kentrell Locket doing these days, besides blowing up my twitter timeline? Is he with an NFL team, and if not, what are his plans?

  • Jay, I suspect that had more to do with a wrinkle Hugh was trying out. That may have been why media practice observation periods were cut from seven to four last week.

Brian, I had Kentrell on Rebel Sports Radio a month or so ago, maybe a little more. He was trying to land a football opportunity but didn’t say exactly what that was. He’s back home in Hahnville, La.

I am wishing hard for Bo to have a complete game, but that is yet to happen. Seems like after a sack more times than not he presses to hard and ends up throwing an INT within a play or two. I was hoping more of Brunetti this game since he is more mobile and Wallace had the bruised shoulder anyway which limited his deeper throws during the week. Even the lady announcer said that anything Wallace threw over 25 yards in pre-game seemed to bother him. Defense played great most of the game with some ‘great googely moogely’ hits and they will have to again this week. Just need to shore up some QB judgement and some special team quirks and the wins should start rolling in.
