Nkemdiche honored by SEC

There are Ole Miss angles all over the SEC’s weekly email release of award winners.

First, Ole Miss redshirt freshman Denzel Nkemdiche was named co-defensive player of the week after recording 11 tackles, a sack, three TFLs and two forced fumbles in the Rebels’ 33-14 loss at Alabama.

Nkemdiche shares the award with Georgia cornerback Sanders Commings, who had five tackles and two interceptions against Tennessee.

The offensive player of the week is Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, who visits Ole Miss this week.

A special teams co-player of the week is Alabama’s Christion Jones, who had a 99-yard kick return touchdown against Ole Miss.
