Vandy coach James Franklin points out Auburn’s recent success in recruiting and says it would be a mistake to believe it’s not a talented team coming to Nashville this weekend. Earlier this week Franklin allowed his quarterbacks to speak to the media again. He’d not allowed that for six weeks, saying the muzzle would reduce the chance of a brewing QB controversy. …

Johnny Football will face his toughest defensive challenge yet when LSU visits The Station, and Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin wants to see a smarter game from the Aggies. It will be an 11 a.m. kick at Kyle Field as determined by ESPN. LSU coach Les Miles has expressed concern about the early kick and has brought in a sleep doctor to address the Tigers. …
