Tuesday Practice Notes

Cornerback Charles Sawyer (ankle) and safety Trae Elston (knee) were held out of practice today. That represents almost half the Rebels’ five-man starting secondary, but Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze says he expects both players to be ready to go this week at Arkansas.

They could have practiced today, but Freeze said they were held out for precautionary reasons. Wesley Pendleton, the starter before losing out to Senquez Golson, was running first team at corner, Frank Crawford in Elston’s place at safety.

Here’s freshman Mike Hilton talking about his emergence in the secondary.
