Tuesday Practice Notes

Here’s a Q-and-A with Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze following today’s practice …

How healthy are you guys?
I wish we were healthier. We’re beat up in the secondary in particular with Wesley and Senquez. Charles is going to play, but he’s still nursing his foot. (Trae) Elston looks good.

Thank God for people like Mike Hilton, Quintavius Burdette … Anthony Standifer’s back today, and he looks good. They’re just puppies, but we need that depth right now.

Senquez Golson, what his status?
He’s going through the concussion tests, and he has to be cleared from that. Yesterday was the first battery of tests. We’ll see if tomorrow’s are better. Hopefully there’s good improvement, and it progresses through the week.

Movement at corner with Senquez out?
Dehendret Collins is going to have to go to corner. Mike Hilton, and we’ll move Brishen Matthews back to Husky and play Quintavius Burdette at some corner too, get him some reps. We’ll have to do some shuffling around.

64 scholarship players taxing your depth?
Hopefully with the breaks you have with the CBS game, those 2-minute breaks and that 3-minute floater every quarter, hopefully that will help us some. We’re just thin. You can’t carry but 70 (on the road), so I don’t want to exaggerate that we’re at some huge disadvantage. At home games they get to dress 15 extra. Being on the road makes that 64 magnified a little bit.
