Time will tell if Arkansas has hit a home run with its coaching search. The Razorbacks have at least gotten on the kiss cam. They are the talk of college football right now, and here’s what some are saying about the hiring of Bret Bielema away from Wisconsin.


From the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Wisconsin players react to the departure of their coach. And from Pittsburgh, former Wisconsin player and later offensive coordinator Paul Chryst says he’s committed to Pittsburgh, which would seem to have him in place when the Panthers take on Ole Miss on Jan. 5 in the BBVA Compass Bowl in Birmingham. …

Auburn made its own news on Tuesday, even if it rocked the boat less. It was easy to see the attraction to Gus Malzahn, who was offensive coordinator when the Tigers won the national championship in 2010. Birmingham columnist Kevin Scarbinsky questions the Auburn hire …

Auburn’s hire reduced from four to one the number of coach openings in the SEC. Tennessee, you’re on the clock. Some reports have Charlie Strong as a leading candidate. Strong spurned an opportunity on Monday to fully commit to Louisville, but Louisville isn’t giving up without a fight.

Mike Gundy and Larry Fedora have been mentioned for Tennessee too.

Gundy’s name has been linked in so many reports it makes you wonder what’s going on with him at Oklahoma State. …
