A little video from Demarco Cox here.

It’s been a bit of a frustrating start to the season for Cox, who is working his way back from a foot injury to good conditioning. He’s competing for minutes off the bench in the frontcourt, and he’s eager to get back to the form he showed last season when he averaged 15 minutes a game.

We’ve talked a lot about Andy Kennedy’s ability to “throw a change-up” with a different style of point guard in Derrick Millinghaus. Cox gives him that ability in the frontcourt, and Kennedy says Cox would have played and helped against Middle Tennessee had he not missed the game because of a death in the family.

Cox, as you hear in the video, says there’s been a different sort of tone from the coaching staff since the loss at Middle. The Rebels take on East Tennessee State Friday evening at Tad Smith.

East is coached by Murray Bartow, a friend and former boss for Kennedy at UAB. The Bucs are having issues with injuries and other things and may be down on their number of scholarship players. Kennedy expects to see a lot of zone Friday night.
