Tuesday Morning Update

Spanning the globe on a Tuesday morning …

From Birmingham, Nick Saban tells a Miami radio station that he’s “very, very happy” at Alabama and hopes he can stay “for a long, long time.”

When a guy doubles up on his adjectives, he has to be serious. There has been speculation of late about Saban returning to the NFL. …

A nice read here remembering the Alabama-Notre Dame match-up in the 1973 Sugar Bowl. I was a first-grader then. I remember the game being on in the house and watching a little, then moving on to something else, then coming back to the game a little. Rinse and repeat. One memory that stands out is that my dad seemed to think the TV commentary favored Notre Dame …

From Baton Rouge, Les Miles is proud of the graduation rate for his LSU team. …

From Knoxville, new Tennessee coach Butch Jones just completed his staff with the hiring of a Bielema assistant from Wisconsin. …

From Cincinnati, a good read on Tommy Tuberville here. He denies walking out on the Texas Tech recruits at dinner the night before being named coach at UC and says the UC move was good for family with his wife being from the area. He compares Cincinnati to the Miami program where he coached back in the 80s. …
