The Rebels worked for about two hours in their first full practice after a week-long Christmas Break. Most players reported back last night, and the team went through a walk-through. The only player yet to report is LB Aaron Garbutt, and he is on the way.
Wide receiver Vincent Sanders did not dress today, held out after having a tooth pulled. He is expected back tomorrow.
Quarterback Bo Wallace did practice and looked sharp, but the shoulder, while rested, won’t be healed until after the season. That healing process may or may not require surgery.
Also not working out was senior tight end Jamal Mosley. He didn’t work out before Christmas either, a grade casualty, but Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze left open the possibility then that Mosley could return. During the break Mosley began to tweet pictures of packed bags and his arrival in Los Angeles.
Freeze says he has confidence in Ferbia Allen and H.R. Greer to handle the work load at tight end, even though Allen is coming back from injury and will be playing for the first time since early November.
Here’s Freeze after the workout:
Barry Brunetti spoke with us as well. He has no interest in transferring and trying to play one season as a senior next year. He is wide open to conversation about a position change, but there have been no discussions yet.
