It was not a bad workout for the Rebels today, thought Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze thought his defense had more energy than his offense.
That brings up the timing question with a layoff of 42 days between games.
Quarterback Bo Wallace, as you’ll see in video below, says the layoff will not be a problem. OC Dan Werner says the same thing. Werner says the layoff, obviously, will affect both teams, and success will go to the team that is mentally tougher.
Bottom line, players and coaches say there’s enough water under the bridge with practices since August that they don’t expect the layoff to be an issue.
Speaking of offense, here’s some video of Werner putting the quarterbacks and receivers through some drills.
Freeze was asked about his decision to redshirt his senior kickoff man and punter, and he said, “I got buy with it.” Andrew Ritter and Tyler Campbell are both pleased with how that decision worked out. More on those guys later. Here’s Freeze after practice:
Freeze was talking to Jim Holder of WTVA, not me, with the overdressed comments.
