Rebels look for 3-0 SEC start

Ole Miss goes for a 3-0 SEC start when it takes on Vanderbilt tonight at Memorial Gym in Nashville.

This isn’t one of Vanderbilt’s better teams, but Ole Miss has rarely won in Nashville, just 5-47 against the Commodores in their hometown.

The last time the Rebels won at Memorial Gym was 2001, the year they advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. Since then Ole Miss is 0-5 at Memorial, losing by an average margin of 11 points.

Basketball has a bigger budget for travel and is flying more than it once did, but weather conditions caused the Rebels to skip the plane and take the bus to Nashville last night.

Tonight’s tip is at 8, and the game will be televised by ESPNU.
