Wahl on the Frogs

Ole Miss is as familiar with TCU as it has been with any non-conference opponent in recent memory.

The Rebels and Horned Frogs met five times in 2012 with TCU winning three times including the last two games to win the College Station Regional and advance to the super regional.

Now TCU visits on opening weekend, the first pitch Friday at 4 at Swayze Field.

Bobby Wahl got the win against TCU in the 2012 season opener then again in Game 1 of the regional when No. 3 seed Ole Miss knocked No. 2 seed TCU. Wahl scattered seven hits and gave up two runs over seven innings then. He started the championship game on short rest the following Monday and was less effective.

Here’s Wahl on TCU as the teams get ready to meet again:

Here’s a little more about TCU’s pitching. While Ole Miss returns its top two starters in Wahl and Mike Mayers, TCU returns its top three pitchers.

  • We shall see what the Rebels have to offer in baseball this season in the weekend series with TCU. Hopeful, power will come from new comer

Stuart Turner, Jr.. Rebels could have the fastest outfield in college baseball this season. Very strong pitching and with an All American relief and save pitcher in Huber. My guess is Arkansas and Vandy will be the teams to beat this season in SEC play. JB
