Wahl is SEC pitcher of the week

The SEC office has taken notice of Bobby Wahl’s work against TCU in the season opener.

Wahl gave up a leadoff double to open the game but retired 10 of the next 11 batters he faced and did not give up another hit until the sixth inning.

He allowed just three hits through 6.1 innings of work, walked three and struck out eight, two shy of his career total of 10.

The Ole Miss-TCU series was one of only two matchups in the SEC that included two ranked teams.

No. 8-ranked Ole Miss is back in action today at 4 at Swayze Field against Tennessee-Martin.
