Ole Miss 10, Lipscomb 1

Nice start to the weekend for the Rebels.

A couple of things to note:

It was the 485th victory at Ole Miss for Mike Bianco, tying Jake Gibbs. Bianco can become the school’s career wins leader tomorrow.

Ten runs on 14 hits with all the runs scored in the second through fourth innings.

Andrew Mistone was 3-for-3 with three RBIs, Preston Overbey 2-for-4 with four RBIs, Stuart Turner 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

Bobby Wahl told us on Wednesday that he felt like the blister on his finger was better. He went 6.0 innings with no runs, no walks, three hits and six strikeouts.

First pitch for Game 2 is 1:30.

JAKE Gibbs the last baseball coach at OM to take them to Omaha, could this be the year for Mike Bianco, Hope so. Rebels not much power in the line up home run wise but very good at small ball tactic, with very good pitching. Texas under Auggie an expert in small ball and winners. maybe it will work for OM.. Turner the only real home run threat, but Mistone and Will Allen capable. so is Preston Overbey he can hit the long ball at times. My guess is they will sweep Lipscomb.
