Final: Ole Miss 8, Libscomb 5

The Rebels secure the series and go for their fourth-straight weekend sweep at noon today.

Mike Mayers was very good, six inning of one-hit, shutout baseball.

Ole Miss was cruising when Mike Bianco went to Austin Blunt and Scott Weathersby in the seventh. Things didn’t go well, but Aaron Greenwood came in and restored order. He got the final out of the seventh then threw a perfect eight.

Brett Huber allowed a hit and a walk with a three-run lead in the ninth but recorded his sixth save.

Auston Bousfield had a two-run home run, and Preston Overbey had three hits as Ole Miss improved to 15-1.
