Catcher Stuart Turner and pitcher Mike Mayers are the SEC weekly honors nominees for Ole Miss.
Turner hit .600 for the week going 9-for-15 with three doubles and 10 RBIs.
Turner drove in two runs with a basehit as part of a five-run rally in the seventh inning Sunday as the Rebels wiped out an 8-4 deficit to win 9-8 and complete a three-game sweep of Lipscomb.
Turner had multiple hits in four of the five games on the week and had at least one RBI in each game.
The junior college transfer is hitting .491 on the year and has thrown 11 of 14 would-be base stealers.
Mayers, the junior right-hander, pitched six innings of one-hit, shutout baseball in the Rebels’ 8-5 win on Saturday.
Mayers gave up a leadoff walk then picked off the runner at first base for the third out of the first inning. He did not allow another baserunner until a one-out double in the fourth. He had seven strikeouts.
The sweep of Lipscomb marks the first time since 2004 that Ole Miss has opened the season with four-straight weekend sweeps.
The Rebels (16-1) are on the road five times this week, Tuesday and Wednesday at La.-Monroe in 6 p.m., starts, then at Arkansas for the first weekend of SEC play.
