Gunner Kiel and Ole Miss

In this Joe Schad report former Notre Dame quarterback Gunner Kiel, the former No. 1-rated QB in the nation, says he has visited Cincinnati and has interested in other program as well.

He mentions that he’s been contacted by Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Kansas State. Several other schools — Tennessee among them — are listed as well, though he doesn’t mention contact as of yet with those schools.

The biggest factor in his decision to transfer is to win a starting job. He’ll have to sit out next year and says he wants to go someplace that he can compete for the starting job in 2014.

If Bo Wallace improves on his sophomore season at Ole Miss, it would stand to reason that he would be entering his third season as the Rebels’ starter in 2014.
