FINAL: Vanderbilt 3, Ole Miss 1

Not enough offense, not enough pitching. You have to score more than one run, but one run would have been enough without seven walks and a hit-batter. Not enough pitches at the right time.

The Rebels will lose their third-straight SEC series unless they sweep No. 2 Vanderbilt over the next two days.

Game 2 is tomorrow at 4.

And here’s reliever Tanner Bailey.

Bailey has had very good control this year, but he hit the leadoff batter with a 2-2 count in the eighth, then walked a batter, allowing Vanderbilt to manufacture the go-ahead run with a double steal and a sac fly.

PA. Thanks for the video, hopeful that we who cannot make it to the game can see it on ESPN3. We were up in Oxford weekend 2 weeks back, miserable weather and Rebels were beaten by Tex A&M. WE enjoyed the visit and family gathering(sorry to say I knew very few). Was glad to get back home in Crestview, Florida. PA Thanks for the outstanding work that you are doing bringing ole miss sports to us that live away. keep up the good work God bless. JB

Ole Miss BB team has plenty of talent but lacks focus. From Coaches to players, we lost tonight because they played chess and we played checkers.

I agree Col Reb OM got out foxed in this one. JB
