Ole Miss 5, Tennessee 0

Looks like some Smokey Mountain Magic for Bobby Wahl. A complete game with three hits, eight strikeouts and only two walks. Walks had been a problem for the Rebels’ ace. Wahl is now 8-0.

Offensively, Stuart Turner was 3-for-5 with a pair of singles and a solo home run in the ninth to lead a 14-hit attack, most hits for Ole Miss in an SEC game this season.

Christian Helsel, at shortstop in place of the injured Austin Anderson, was 3-for-3 with a double. Tanner Mathis was 2-for-5 with a double. Preston Overbey was 2-for-5 with a double.

Tennessee will throw its better pitchers as the weekend progresses.

Ole Miss earned its fourth-straight SEC win and has a chance to win the series in Game 2 tomorrow at 3 central.
