Ole Miss 4, Tennessee 3

Rebels sweep.

Ole Miss runs its SEC win streak to six games with a second-straight sweep, rallying from a 3-1 deficit with three runs in the ninth against Tennessee right-hander Zack Godley.

Godley pitched a complete game, his third f the season, but also took the loss.

Not a bad start for Ole Miss sophomore Sam Smith, who gave up one run in 5.1 innings. Chris Ellis and Tanner Bailey also gave up runs in relief. Brett Huber did not, facing only three batters in the ninth and getting his 10th save with less drama than he did with his ninth in the Rebels’ 6-4 win Saturday.

Only six hits for the Rebels against Godley, but Ole Miss committed no errors compared to Tennessee’s three.

Tanner Mathis went 2-for-4, the Rebels’ only multiple hitter.

Stuart Turner doubled in the ninth. The Rebels had two hits in the inning, and the Vols committed an error.

Ole Miss improves to 29-12 overall, 10-8 in the SEC and plays at Arkansas State Tuesday night at 6:30.
