Westboro to picket Ole Miss

Members of Westboro Baptist Church from Topeka, Kansas, will be at Ole Miss the morning of May 18 to demonstrate against idolatry.

A post on the church’s website compares the popularity of the 2009 Michael Oher movie, “The Blind Side,” to idol worship. LINK

I actually saw these guys outside The Sprint Center during the NCAA tournament games in Kansas City. I guess that was sort of a home game for them. With everybody avoiding them on the sidewalk it looked like they’d seen a Westboro production before.

Ole Miss is one of five NCAA schools — joining Alabama from the SEC — to make the picket list.

These people should be banned from speaking anywhere!

These people have the right to speak like it or not, this is The united States of America, governed by the Constitution.

I think these people are a bunch of idiots, but even idiots have rights to free speach

Thank you for not writing an opinion about this. Outstanding self restraint and dignity on your part.

Yes, everyone has the right to free speech, as long as that free speech doesn’t infringe on the rights of others. If I want to worship Michael Oher, by gosh, I will. Same goes for Elvis. One of my good friends died in Iraq in the early 90’s. He wasn’t anything but a good man. I am certain he is with the Lord. I miss the good ole days when you could tar and feather dumb@$$e$ like this and run them out of town. WBC members are what they protest against. They are Jihadists that speak English, but their goal is the same. They want to destroy America, just as the Islamic extremist do. Personally, I think if God wants anyone dead, he can handle it without the help of these clowns. Here’s to hoping God decides to kill them all soon so our soldiers and their families can have some peace.
