MSU at Ole Miss Game 1: It’s a wash

Update 8:01 p.m.

An Ole Miss spokesman tells us Bobby Wahl’s status for tomorrow’s game will be determined after Mike Bianco visits with his ace to see how he feels.

The word from Ole Miss is that it’s not likely Wahl will start.

Game 1 has been suspended after a half inning and will resume tomorrow at 3 with the Game 2 to follow.

No word on pitching matchups moving forward. Bobby Wahl threw a half inning, a relatively easy one. Luis Pollorena, obviously, warmed up but did not throw.

Wahl looked really good. Struck out the side, getting Adam Frazier and Brett Pirtle looking.

MSU got a two-out baserunner when Hunter Renfroe reached on an error by Austin Anderson at short. Anderson was moving to his left, got a glove on the ball, and it kind of rolled up his arm.

At this writing the rain has lessened, but it’s still raining, and straight-away center and left-center field have water standing in two very large areas.

Pollorena has been confirmed as MSU’s starter tomorrow.

We are in a rain delay. Play was stopped at 6:42. Looks like it will resume in a while.

Some rain delay video for you. Grounds crew will have some serious work to do in the outfield.

A tough line for Bobby Wahl to face but I believe he can do it, Just Hope the Rebs give him some runs in support. Hunter Renfroe and Wes Rea are capable of sendin that horse hid out to the farms on Woodson Ridge.
