Rod Taylor had been planning to commit today for nearly a week now. However, he hadn’t been planned on being named Dandy Dozen by the Clarion Ledger, but that is exactly what happened. For Rod Taylor, he commits to his school and is named the third Dandy Dozen of 2014, joining Ole Miss commit DK Buford and MSU commit Jamoral Graham. Taylor is considered, the state’s top prospect.
Rod Taylor commitment story:
The top player in the state of Mississippi, Roderick Taylor, has committed to Hugh Freeze and Ole Miss. He announced earlier at his school. He chose Ole Miss over Alabama and offers from all of the SEC and most of the country.
Taylor is rated the nation’s top guard by 247sports.com and is a consensus 4-star prospect on Scout, Rivals and 247 sports.
With Taylor now in the boat, Ole Miss remains only one commitment away from completing a clean sweep of the “Callaway four,” which consists of Ronald Walker, Dayall Harris, Rod Taylor and the lone player uncommitted Breeland Speaks. Taylor also means the Rebels are only one offensive lineman from filling their offensive line needs in the 2014 class.
This gives Ole Miss another big time recruit under Hugh Freeze and another major recruiting battle won over the big guys as well.
