Heard on loss of Sanders, depth at wide receiver

Wide receiver coach Grant Heard spoke with us today about the loss of Vince Sanders and what’s going to have to happen for Ole Miss to overcome that.


Sanders was second to Donte Moncrief in receiving yards and touchdowns. Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze told us today he’s hopeful of having Sanders back by the fourth game, which would be at Alabama on Sept. 28.

The Rebels have an open date the week prior to their Tuscaloosa trip. Following the Aug. 29 opener against Vanderbilt, they’re at home for FCS foe Southeast Missouri then play at Texas.
